Once Joshua falls asleep...

...there's not much that will wake him up. Last night after we put the boys to bed, I was doing some work in the living room. I kept thinking that I heard faint music, but decided I must be going crazy. Just about that time, I heard the music again, only it was louder. And, it was coming from the boys room. I went in the room to find all the lights on, Micah playing Joshua's harmonica as loud as he could, and Joshua SOUND ASLEEP! Hilarious, amazing, and frustrating, all at the same time. :) Good times.

Looking Back

I cannot tell you what joy floods my soul as I remember Joshua when he was such a little boy. This was in the fall of 2006, after we had moved to TX the first time. We had spent the day hiking around a park and watching hot air balloons float overhead. What a precious, happy, beautiful boy! I can hardly believe that this same little boy is going to be 5 soon. Wow, does time go by quickly.

I won something!!

I just won a book from Mommy Life!! Many thanks to Barbara and to the nice people at Raising Real Men for wanting to pass on this book to those of us in need! :) I'll let you know what I think of the book after I've read it.

Poor Ziva

The past few days with Ziva have been loads of fun (insert sarcasm here)! Last Friday, she sliced her foot open on a piece of broken glass while walking with Neil. The cut was deep enough that Neil decided to take her to the vet. She ended up having to get a suture and then stitches. Over the weekend, as much as we tried to keep her away from the wound, she managed to pull most of her stitches out. So, she went back on Monday morning. This is what she looks like now! :) It is sad and hilarious, all at the same time. We take the collar off when we can supervise her, but at night and when we are gone, it has to go back on. All I can say is that it's going to be a long 2 weeks. For those of you who have never met Ziva, she "oozes with energy", as the vet so nicely put it. She doesn't know what to do with all of the pent up energy she has, except to drive us all crazy!

The Dentist

Joshua had his first visit to the dentist on Tuesday and was great throughout the entire experience. I have some lame excuses for not taking him to the dentist yet, like we've moved around so much, or I couldn't find a good recommendation for a dentist in my network. Well, I finally found someone that I feel comfortable taking the boys to. And I'm so glad that I waited. Joshua enjoyed his visit, all went well, and he went home to tell Micah all about it! Needless to say, Micah will be visiting the dentist much sooner than his brother. It helps that as a prize Joshua picked out a really cool light-up bouncy ball (and that Micah REALLY wants to get the same thing). :) I do not have a picture of his visit. What's funny, though, is that on the way there Joshua asked if he could get his picture taken with the dentist. I hated to disappointment him because I did not have my camera with me. I can only hope that Micah's visit goes so well!

Snow Days

wow! What a insane couple of weeks. We're finally moved in and feeling settled. The snow was a nice surprise after moving in. We all enjoyed playing in the snow and making snowmen. It was the perfect snow! We now have internet at the new house and I'm looking forward to getting back to blogging!
