Not only do I enjoy exploring new places, but the whole family does! The boys are at such a great age to be able to appreciate new places and experiences. We really look forward to going on family adventures together! This past September we were able to go to the Windy City to explore for a few days and celebrate M-man's 8th birthday. Wow! 8 years old! Where has the time gone?? Anyway, back to family adventures...
We spent M-man's birthday at the Shedd Aquarium. It was a very fun aquarium
and we really enjoyed our time there! The Amphibians special exhibit was a favorite exhibit of ours.
Here is Big J touching the sturgeon in the ice cold touch tank at the Shedd Aquarium.
That night we ate Chicogo style deep dish pizza, a must have!
It was tasty! I love the look on Big J's face while waiting for his pizza.
And M-man fell asleep because he was so tired.
We walked EVERYWHERE that day and the next!
One attempt at a family selfie. Buckingham Fountain is in the background.
Another attempt at a selfie...only to be thwarted by the bright sunshine.
Oh well, at least the sun was shining.
Millennium Park was the boy's favorite by far! They loved playing
on the amazing, sprawling play sets and parks.
Can't you tell someone was having a good time??
The obligatory picture at Cloud Gate, or more commonly known as "The Bean"...there were so many people milling about that it was nearly impossible to not have someone else in the picture.
Our second and last full day was spent at the Field Museum checking out Sue, the Egyptian Mummies, and the Hall of Mammals. The place was enormous, overwhelming, and awesome! We were only able to see part of the museum. It was our favorite day because we were joined by some dear friends from our college days, The West's, and their sweet family, who live about an hour out of the city. What a wonderful day and fantastic over all visit to Chicago!
