Kayaking

It was a beautiful day here today. We met some friends at the lake to play in the sand and kayak! (Many thanks to Toni for bringing her kayaks!)

We all got to paddle for a bit. It was nice! The latest from Big J is that he is now going to be saving up for a kayak! How awesome would that be!!

Picking Kiwi

Did you know that kiwi grow on vines? We didn't....at least not until we lived here in Cali! We just cleaned off the rest of the kiwi this past weekend. Here's Big J working hard to help pick what was left!

Big J started Martial Arts this week!

I'm so proud of this boy! He started a new martial arts class and loves it! He works hard, gives good effort, and is motivated to learn and improve! From my perspective it doesn't get much better than that!

I must have been crazy...

We have park day every Thursday afternoon with our homeschool group. We always look forward to it. The boys have a blast playing with their friends and I get to catch up with the moms. Well, today I decided to take the dog with us. For various reasons, mostly schedule and weather, our dog hasn't had a walk since Monday. Not good. So, we loaded up a bike, a scooter, two boys, and a dog and headed to the park. Overall, Rox did well, but it wasn't my most relaxing park day ever.  Oh well. At least she will sleep well tonight!

Digging in the Dirt

The boys have been digging for worms today! They also dug a nice tunnel and started a worm habitat. What a great way to spend an afternoon!

In Bloom

We are officially 'in bloom'! The daffodils aren't far behind!

Sunrise

One of my favorite ways to start my day is with a walk to the lake. This doesn't happen every day, but I look forward to the days when it does. Of course, I usually have a crazy, wild dog named Rox in row. She loves to bound along the shoreline, even in cold weather.

I get to start my day with the peace, quiet, and beauty of God's creation...and she gets to fetch the tennis ball and run to her hearts content!
